On April 8 an estimated 200 people gathered at the First Parish. in Cambridge for an Alliance event featuring human rights defender Issa Amro from Hebron in the West Bank and Peter Beinart, author of the recent book 'Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza - a Reckoning.' Beinart and Amro, who has been widely recognized for his work encouraging non violent resistance to the Occupation, have been friends for nearly a decade. They addressed current realities in Israel-Palestine and the US, and the critical role civil society here can play to keep hope alive.
